The result is this – they will not
do business with you because
they don’t trust you. And worse,
the person who referred you
now looks bad to the prospect.
They have fences to mend at
this point. And they will hesitate
to refer you again in the future.
The damage is deep and long
term.
So, while being an expert has its
good points, remember to keep
it in check when meeting with
prospects. Follow your usual
process, regardless of how
much you think you know about
them and their need.
